Swine flu is a respiratory disease normally found in pigs and caused by type A influenza viruses. The recent outbreak of this influenza in Mexico is a combination of avian (bird), swine (pig), and human strains of viruses which have mutated to form a new influenza virus.While it may have originally been transmitted from pigs to humans, the new virus has the ability to spread from person to person.
